National thesaurus and ontology services are now provided via the Finto service operated by the National Library of Finland. ONKI APIs have also migrated to Finto.

Merenkulkualan ontologia - MERO

Merenkulkualan ontologia perustuu Merenkulkualan asiasanastoon, jonka ovat koonneet Suomen merialan kirjastot. Ontologia sisältää noin 1300 merenkulkualan käsitettä suomen kielellä. Liikennevirasto on rakentanut yhteistyössä Semanttisen laskennan tutkimusryhmän kanssa Merenkulkualan ontologiasta ja Yleisestä suomalaisesta ontologiasta (YSO) koostuvan yhdistelmäontologian FinnONTO-projektissa. Yhdistelmäontologia on rakennettu vertailemalla Merenkulkualan ontologiaa Yleiseen suomalaiseen ontologiaan (YSO) yhteisten käsitteiden löytämiseksi sekä muokkaamalla käsitehierarkia YSOn yläkäsitteistön ja mallinnusperiaatteiden mukaisesti. Näin on voitu selkeyttää käsitteiden yhteneväisyydet ja erot sekä erikoisalan käsitteiden liittymäkohdat yleisempään käsitehierarkiaan. Merenkulkualan ontologia on tarkoitettu erityisesti merenkulkualan julkaisujen sisällönkuvailuun ja tiedonhakuun. Ontologiaa voi selailla ONKI-ontologiakirjastopalvelun avulla tai ONKI-palvelu voidaan sisällyttää osaksi toista käytössä olevaa järjestelmää indeksointikomponentin avulla.
